Talk about confusion! Bear Streans has been the most bullish lately and MSDW the most bearish. MSDW's main contention is that the semi cycle seldom zig-zags. I guess time will tell. I was actually more interested in WCOM news today than in Altera's. The item of interest was their comment about the slow down in the rate of growth of their Internet business. Since Worldcom's is a very different animal than other ISP's, a continuation of their slow down will bode badly for network guys and by extension for the likes of SANM, chip makers, and ultimately the equipment guys. In times of confusion, I either stay out or become a trader rather than an investor. ST
