G-SITE Link Provides Interface Solution for PDI Customers
GREENSBORO, N.C., Oct. 31 /PRNewswire/ -- Marconi Commerce Systems announced today that Professional Datasolutions, Inc. (PDI) has certified G-SITE Link for use with PDI/Resource Management Series (PDI/RMS) back office and accounting software. Convenience-store customers can now use G-SITE Link to transfer data between any version of Marconi's G-SITE and the PDI/RMS back office application.

G-SITE Link is a PC communication software application that interfaces to the G-SITE system and facilitates communications between a G-SITE POS system and a back office or home office personal computer. G-SITE Link allows customers to download their G-SITE sales data and upload back office price book information. G-SITE Link resides on the back office PC and connects to G-SITE via a direct cable connection or from a remote location via modem. It handles back office PC to G-SITE communication protocol conversions and stores sales data and department, item and fuel configuration data as flat ASCII files or in PDI/RMS file format. These files can then be retrieved and manipulated by third party Back Office Software (BOS) applications.
Customers who previously purchased Marconi's G-SKAN product are eligible for the G-SKAN/G-SITE Link exchange program. Customers can receive credit towards a G-SITE Link Kit by returning their G-SKAN software CD and proof of purchase to their distributor. The exchange program will be offered until December 31, 2000.
