Weird - I'm inclined to dismiss these rumors, but since no one here had posted about it I thought I'd put it up for discussion.

Even if true, it sounds like a very minor issue. The fix to the problem clearly indicates to me that its of an electrical type than logical type, and mobo manufacturers can fix the glitches by using some additional passive components. Via obviously is trying to take care of it on the chip so the mobo manufacturers can eliminate the use of the additional components.
