First of all the Register reacted to a claim by Tom's hardware, citing AMD sources, that there were no problems with the AMD760 DDR chipset. The Register then updated their story from this morning TO CONFIRM THAT NEC AND AT LEAST ONE OTHER MANUFACTURER ARE POSTPONING AMD760 INTRODUCTION.

This was confirmed by Dean Kent, owner of realworldtech.com, in a message at Aces' Hardware.

Dean confirms that a THIRD MANUFACTURER, EPOX, IS DELAYING INTRODUCTION OF ANY AMD760 BOARD UNTL AMD FIXES THE PROBLEM.

People who discredited The Register's original report should remember that the same publication was the first to report the abortive launch of the i820 a year ago.
