IMPCO Completes Hydrogen Fuel System for Hyundai Santa Fe SUV Ahead of Schedule

IRVINE, Calif., Nov. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- IMPCO Technologies, Inc. IMCO announced today that it has completed the development of a advanced hydrogen fuel storage and fuel delivery system for Hyundai Motor Company's new fuel cell prototype Santa Fe Sport Utility Vehicle ahead of schedule.

The Hyundai fuel cell vehicle will utilize IMPCO's state-of-the-art advanced hydrogen fuel system technologies and IMPCO's vehicle level system integration expertise.

IMPCO together with United Technologies UTX, International Fuel Cell Division and electric drivetrain provider Enova Systems ECAR are involved in the development of the Hyundai Fuel Cell Vehicle.

Hyundai will display the fuel cell version of the Santa Fe SUV at the Grand Opening of the California Fuel Cell Partnership in Sacramento on November 1, 2000. The California Fuel Cell Project includes: Hyundai, Ford, General Motors, DaimlerChrysler, Nissan, Volkswagen, Honda, fuel providers and both California and Federal government agencies as members.
