Reagan almost made us go broke. The Soviet Union collapsed because the inherent internal contradictions of the communist economic system finally caught up with it. Unfortunately, you can't seem to understand that. Thanks to Truman and Marshall, who designed the containment that guaranteed the eventual collapse, and not the Ronnie-come-lately who didn't even happen to be there when it finally happened. In fact, Reagan probably ended up propping up the Soviet regime for a few extra years beyond its allotted time by giving them a bogeyman to rally against.
