I expect some kind of "bio-event" next 12 to 36 months.

A "bio-event" (for want of a better term) I would define as a cure or near cure or extremely effective treatment (more than a marginal improvement) for a mid-level disease (e.g. might be a nonfatal but perhaps severely debilitating large demographic based affliction - or something equivalent.)

Certainly everyone recognizes that proteomics perhaps 10 to 30 yrs down the road has the best odds to produce major breakthroughs.

However, near-term (next several yrs) should such a "bio-event" occur -it will bring enormous favorable publicity to the biotech sector, pushing up valuations to stratospheric levels - beyond even the companies directly involved.

In essence it will be biotech's warmup act for the main event.
