Somehow, you have been assume that IBM picked Palm OS simply because it didn't like Microsoft.

This is a false assumption. IBM will do anything to make its service unit even more profitable. Not going with the leader, Palm OS, would be a business mistake. IBM knows this.

IBM is not shy about working with Microsoft. Recently, IBM, Microsoft, and Ariba just got together to announce a new XML-based eCommerce standard. This standard will be part of Microsoft's .net program.

In the IBM/Palm case, Palm OS simply beat out Win CE.
