Ray,

I don't know much about the Calpine operations up in the hills, although on some days the steam plumes can be seen from Santa Rosa. Santa Rosa already has tertiary treatment and is irrigating ag land. Best tomatoes I ever ate came from a demonstration farm near the wastewater treatment plant using recycled effluent. The people downstream of SR along the Russian River do not want Santa Rosa's effluent in the river no matter how well it is treated. It is totally irrational.

The City got into trouble years ago during some very wet winters when they discharged a lot of not completely treated wastewater to the flooding river. The bad publicity did hurt the downstream Russian River resorts.

Apparently there is a lot of heat at the Geysers. It is the lack of water to transfer the heat (as steam) to the surface. Geothermal steam is fairly rare (geothermal hot water is not nearly as rare).

Great day for CPN today -- +5 1/8
In a market with so many high growth rate stocks selling for 100x or 200x earnings, I think CPN is a relative bargain. I bought more last week.
