It will save a lot of kids in our inner cities who now see drugs as the entrepreneurial opportunity. I'm not sure I buy your toddlers at risk argument.

Even if you are right- clearing out our prisons, and removing that enormous cash cow from the criminal element in our society, would be a fair trade. Our teenagers who are going to use drugs can get them now- only now they have to rip off their parents, or other people to support a major habit. I don't find alcohol to be a very safe drug- and yet it is readily available, and parents don't even bother to lock it up- even though alcohol poisoning is deadly. The distinctions people make between "bad" drugs and "good" drugs strike me as rather silly.
