1. Tate - by coming to his senses and announcing his retirement?
2. RMBS' Board - by firing Tate and hiring some Micron flunky to negotiate an industry wide 0.0001% royalty on SDRAM/DDR/DRDRAM?
3a. INTC - by joining the rest of the industry in filing suit against RMBS for assorted malfeasance, general cheating and taking advantage of an over weight gorilla?
3b. INTC/RMBS - by signing a new secret agreement in which INTC waives its right to go with 3a, surrenders its warrants, and agrees to license SDRAM/DDR IP at 0.001% royalty in exchange for a prorated conditional payment of say $100 Million from RMBS that, coincidentally, matches the projected royalty stream?
3c. INTC/RMBS - by an INTC subsidiary taking an assignment of the questionable RMBS IP in exchange for the surrender of the RMBS warrants and a payment of say $50 Million and a conditional payment of 50% of any future royalties and licenses received on it?
4. INTC Investors - by bailing due to the perception that a Rambus shackled P4 is going to lose the high end CPU market and the realization that any management dumb enough to have signed on to the confidential RMBS contract simply isn't bright enough to get it back?
5. RMBS Investors - by bailing due to the perception that hell will freeze over its hot little chips before anyone in this, or any, industry will pay RMBS a royalty on SDRAM/DDR and that RMBS has virtually halted all design win announcements?
6. The Rest Of The Known EE Universe - by succumbing to mass hysteria and drug addiction thereby signing any agreement RMBS puts under their noses?
7. The Rest Of The Known MM Universe - by having a RMBS patent infringement suit filed against them in Cuba where, three days later, they are tried in abstentia and found liable before a jury of 9 cane cutters; and thus are ordered to turn over all their assets to be nationalized and distributed 50/50 between RMBS and The People, before the fiscal year end?

Its a tough call. While the current INTC/RMBS negotiations could result in either 3(a, b ,or c); I am going to have to stick with the "established pattern" and go with 3(a) as the most likely outcome of this little drama.
I just found the Samsung news and was going to reply to JK that that must explain why I'm now 500 messages behind, but then I found your message and started laughing my butt off. I guess I'll go with #6.
It must have hurt way down deep in your gut when the news came out this morning.
