I really don't understand AMDs involvement in The Rambus debate.

There is none.

AMD shareholders, in general, like Rambus...

Show me one AMD stockholder or AMD proponent that has come on this thread that likes Rambus... just one.

I've never heard any AMD official say anything bad about Rambus. AMD supposedly has a Rambus license. AMD just hasn't seen the need to implement it yet, maybe later.

Look for AMD to use Rambus within 6 months. They are already making overtures in this direction. Even last week.

OTOH, Intel shareholders seem to have a big bone to pick with Rambus...

Only because of Intel's screw ups and letting the blame be placed on Rambus rather than accepting the blame themselves. This has also been enhanced with Rambus' new independence due to their patent rights. In so many words they are telling Intel we're going to do it our way from now on. P4 will launch successfully. Intel just can't afford another screw up, but if they ever wanted to see a product fail it would be P4, but they won't allow this to happen. Intel is starting to feel what it's like to have the tail wag the dog. JMHO
