I would just like to say this, Fred, regarding your posting style. Maybe you would consider a change, maybe not.

When you proactively "forgive" people, I find that very offensive. Not that I'm offended by you, but by that act, which in my mind is wholly insincere and downright arrogant.

You may want to be sure you totally understand the ramification of your statements is all I'm saying.

Also, to stand up for Scott: aside from the few other outright employee posters and the stealth employee posters, Scott is being put in the position of official apologist for the company. Give him a break. I don't know Scott personally, we never got a chance to meet before I left, but I know what that feels like.

I can assure you that Scott is working at the very highest levels of Novell's technology in an impactful way. He needs no fervent exhortations to let the energy flow to motivate him. He doesn't even reveal 1% of what he could because no one lets him. Every statement he makes is immediately met with criticism. Realize that Scott is probably (I say this from his reputation, not from my experiences with him) the smartest poster on this thread.

You will get more out of Scott by allowing him to be a visionary-in-residence at Novell than by forcing him to be an apologist.

I have no intention of representing Scott's opinion here or putting words in his mouth.
