The 6% applied to the IPO of the stock - a terrible time to buy most closed-end funds. The NAV, as quoted in the WSJ or Barron's, represents the actual value of the holdings. The only sales charge you pay now is the commission on the purchase ($29.95 with e.Schwab). --Andy
