BTG Awarded $69 Million JDISS Contract

FAIRFAX, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 2, 2000--BTG, Inc. (Nasdaq: BTGI), an information systems and technical services company, announced that it has been awarded an information technology (IT) support contract by the Office of Naval Intelligence for the Joint Deployable Intelligence Support System (JDISS).

The contract has estimated revenues of $69 million to BTG over its five-year term.

BTG will provide the JDISS Joint Program Office with software integration and development, configuration management, program management, and enterprise management support. JDISS is a rapidly deployable system used by the joint U.S. military services. It connects intelligence centers, command centers and field commanders, offering worldwide interoperability among U.S. commands and joint task forces. Its use of commercial off-the-shelf software has prohuced an inexpensive and flexible system that can be upgraded quickly as advanced technology becomes available. BTG has been a partner with the Joint Program Office in the development of JDISS since the program's inception in 1992.

Robert Osterloh, Senior Vice President and General Manager of BTG Defense and Intelligence Systems, said the company is very pleased with this opportunity to continue its support to the program. "JDISS is a key program for BTG and we are proud to have partnered with the Joint Program Office in its development and deployment. JDISS proved its value in the Gulf War when it provided the joint forces with rapid access to intelligence information from a variety of sources. It promises even more powerful capabilities in the future. To ensure that we are bringing the best that industry has to offer for this program, we have brought seven other leading corporations onto the BTG JDISS team: Computer Associates, Litton PRC, Compaq, Computer Sciences Corporation, General Dynamics, Polexis, and iGov."

Roy Ober, BTG Program Manager for JDISS, said the company's proposed JDISS Support Portal is the next evolutionary step, building expanded services and customer support into the worldwide communications system. "The Portal will give JDISS staff and users an integrated interface for enterprise management ranging from training and help-desk support to configuration and program management. Combined with our software development and integration support, the Portal provides the JDISS Program Office with the full suite of IT solutions required by the warfighter."

The JDISS Program Manager, U.S. Navy Captain Mark Greer, said, "The JDISS system is essential to meeting the mission requirements of the U.S. intelligence community and our allies. BTG's experience in supporting both strategic and tactical missions throughout the world has resulted in a successful program relationship with the company. We are pleased that we will have the BTG Team's continued support in the JDISS program."

BTG has nearly two decades of experience in providing information systems and technical services for clients in the defense and intelligence community, including the National Security Agency, the U.S. Central Command, the Defense Intelligence Agency, the National Reconnaissance Organization, and the Special Operations Command.
