Does anyone have any info they can share with me on this to help me out?

Hi Teflon....

I think the only place you will find the information in a compiled form is in a research report by a brokerage or an independent analyst. Unfortunately, at Q's current shareprice, both of those are a little expensive :(. The information is also usually available in conference call's or PR related to network build-outs.

Here's a small list from memory....take it with a grain of salt. Also, these are targeted dates for the beginning of commmercial service....many of these will be limited in scope.

Sprint PCS 1xrtt Fall '01
Verizon 1xrtt Fall '01
NTT Docomo W-CDMA May '01
Japan Telecom W-CDMA Oct '01
KDDI 1xrtt Fall '01
Alltel 1xrtt Fall '01
Telefonica W-CDMA Aug '01
Vodaphone W-CDMA Sometime in '02
Telcel 1xrtt Second Half of '01

A good place to look for more dates on W-CDMA roll-outs is probably the Nortel/Nokia/Ericsson press releases. These three companies have received the most 3G contracts.....and some will likely have delivery dates included.

The GSM operators have all comitted to GPRS. The only hold-up is the handsets. A couple have already launched commerical service (British Telecom) with modem cards. The rest will likely launch early next year if handsets are available. Nokia/Ericsson/MOT had previously comitted to handsets by the end of this year but that has now slipped to the first quarter of next year.

Of course, all of the Korean operators have committed to launching 1x by the end of this year. Hope this helps....
