A couple other observations: Weather forecast for many of the upper Midwest battleground states Monday and Tuesday is for rain, possibly snow. Not so sure, though, this will help Republicans, especially in those states (like Minnesota) where GWB is ahead in the polls right now. This scenario favors Bush for two reasons. Bad weather will depress turnout. There are more registered Dems than Repubs in absolute numbers. The Bush base is more energized and will turn out to vote come hell or high water. it may actually increase Bush's final tally on a % basis. JLA
