PCTR - .25 x .30. A GREAT company, honest management, exciting technology, beaten down like everything else - and now tremendous news that revalidates their tech. Yeah, I own a bunch of it and plan to do so for a long time.
Perceptronics Licenses IC3D/Wyth(TM) Software to DNA Studio For Peer-to-Peer Group Play in New Online Game BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., Nov. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Perceptronics, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: PCTR) today announced that DNA Studio, a Beverly Hills, CA developer of Web sites for feature films and other entertainment, has licensed the Company's IC3D/Wyth Software to add collaborative group play to a new DNA-produced online Web game promoting an upcoming major television event. The IC3D/Wyth license and initial game project are part of a longer term marketing and co-development agreement between Perceptronics and DNA Studio.
Richard Moskowitz, Perceptronics' chief executive officer, said: "We are very pleased and excited to grant our first paid license for the IC3D/Wyth technology to DNA Studio. They are a premier company in the Hollywood Web community, with a terrific reputation for creativity, content and productivity," Moskowitz concluded.
"This is a key milestone for us, and represents a validation of our product development and marketing strategy. We see this as the pattern for many, many more future sales -- that is, our IC3D products can enable thousands of Internet businesses to create and support rich online collaborative experiences using a variety of Web media.
"The initial DNA Studio project is a perfect example of how the IC3D/Wyth peer-to-peer technology can add an important real-time collaborative dimension to interactive online applications," continued Moskowitz. "In this case, a forward looking Web site developer is using the IC3D/Wyth collaborative technology for Flash and chat to elevate a really cool interactive game to an even more compelling competitive and social experience."
DNA Studio (http://www.dnastudio.com) is an Internet-based multi-media company that produces original Web sites for a variety of customers, including top Hollywood film producers and distributors. DNA's innovative sites immerse visitors in a content-rich environment that uses Flash and other dynamic media to stimulate high levels of interaction as well as to entertain, market and generate robust commerce and sponsor support. Recent work includes Web sites for "Vertical Limit" and "Hollowman" from Columbia Pictures, "me, myself & Irene" and "Fight Club" for 20th Century Fox Films, "Highlander: Endgame" for Dimension Films, and "The Insider" for Touchstone Pictures.
The online game is the first in what Perceptronics and DNA plan to be a series of Web site development projects that join Perceptronics' IC3D/Wyth capabilities for real-time, peer-to-peer collaborative interaction with DNA's outstanding creativity and multi-media production talents.
To that objective, the companies have entered into an agreement under which the companies will work together to co-develop, and market unique collaborative applications for entertainment and other markets. DNA will provide business planning and market access, as well as creative content and application project management. Perceptronics will provide technical resources, including its proprietary connectivity technology -- the IC3D and IC3D/Wyth Software. The agreement gives DNA the right to license the IC3D Software for each application, as well as to sell and/or sublicense IC3D Software to other companies, with payment to Perceptronics.
Dr. Gershon Weltman, Perceptronics' chairman and president, said, "The DNA Studio project provides a good example of how easily and seamlessly Perceptronics' patent-pending IC3D/Wyth Technology works in practice. Visitors to the parent site are formed into player groups by the IC3D/Wyth lobbying server. There can be an unlimited number of such groups formed.
"The IC3D/Wyth technology allows the group users to collaboratively control and view the synchronized dynamic media presentation from the parent site, which can be in Flash, streaming video -- such as Windows Media Player or RealPlayer -- or a combination of media. At the same time, group members can comment via chat. Everyone in the group sees and hears the same material simultaneously, and everyone has a hand on the remote. Intra-group communication is via peer-to-peer connection, independent of the lobbying server and the parent site, so in a sense the groups exist in their own 'cyberspace capsules.'"
Dr. Weltman concluded, "Since the collaborative interaction is done peer-to-peer, adding collaborative capabilities need not require major changes or modifications to Web sites that already offer single-user interaction from Flash or other dynamic media. This means that numerous present sites, with large amounts of available content, can be made collaborative simply and quickly."
Perceptronics' business is to develop, produce and market software products and services that allow Web site developers and owners to create online collaborative experiences that meet the growing demand for expanded multi-user interactivity on the Internet.
