Gore's history and experience? That's what scares people: The story behind a 20-minute sample.

Gore has had ample opportunities to project a positive image of himself, but his image turns negative once people find out the truth behind the stories and exaggerations.

When Iraq invaded Kuwait, Gore honed in immediately on the important issue and how to accomplish his objective: Obtain as much national television coverage for himself as possible while the Senate debated whether to help Kuwait. In pursuit of his objective, Gore negotiated for himself a full 20 minutes of Senate floor time on TV to voice his opinion. He was able to obtain the 20 minutes by maintaining flexibility on the less important "side issue" -- whether the United States should go to war to help oust Saddam from Kuwait.

Gore insisted to Republican senators that he was ready to vote against sending American forces, unless the Republicans would give him 20 minutes of airtime. They agreed, and that's how Gore decided to send American soldiers to their deaths. That's Gore's history. Would people support a commander in chief with that history?
