TELUS wins $100 million national Internet services deal with Technovision Systems Inc.
TORONTO, Nov. 2 /CNW/ - TELUS will provide a national Internet dial-up network to Technovision Systems Inc. over the next five years in a $100 million contract. The deal includes the provisioning of ADSL, high-speed Internet ports in Western Canada as well. The contract value is the largest signed so far for the TELUS Integrated Communications team, TELUS Corporation's Eastern operations division. TELUS will also provide TVS its long-distance and toll-free services and a national frame relay network.
"This is an exciting day for TELUS, as this contract is the biggest we've had, but only a sign of things to come," said Cynthia Lewis, TELUS executive vice-president and president of TELUS Integrated Communications. "I'm thrilled that TELUS will be able to support and service a company that will become the sixth largest Internet service provider in Canada. I look forward to a long and successful partnership."

"As a rapidly growing Internet Service Provider, Technovision requires a reliable and responsive supplier for our telecommunications services," said Gordon Tremain President and CEO. "TELUS has the experience to know how to meet our needs and I look forward to expanding our business with them. It makes good business sense to establish an association with such a company where we can lock in costs on a long term basis."
