I think the term "bottom" is just not helpful in this context. A bottom on a chart should also mirror some kind of change in thinking. The bottom should be in when a negative idea has been overstressed and the positive aspects have been overlooked in the lights of pessimism. The whole concept of chart analysis is largely based on psychology. Media is still fishing for good news and it's getting very ridiculous in some cases. Critizism is still forbidden (politically incorrect;-). At least here is no visible change. So I would say it was certainly a dip or a short term bottom but what we are looking for is not a short term bottom. A true bottom would be a setup for a buy-and-hold strategy which seems a little naive to me at the moment... PMG
