Explain how union members in a closed shop are coerced. They apply for a job voluntarily with a union shop, sign a union card, and X amount of money is withheld from their checks every week for union dues. If they don't like the politics of their union, then they need to resign and seek employment in a non-union workplace.

No different than me going to work for a bank. If I don't like the fact that the banking company supports GOP candidates, then I need to find work elsewhere.

In open shops, like my place of employment, about 30 percent choose to be "free riders." The rest of us are quite happy about where our union dues go ... they go to support candidates and causes that seek to lift up the common working man.
