JC, that is a great question, especially since CFOs generally ought to be able to identify, for example, whether or not the economy is slowing in their industry.

I would love to see a survey of CFOs from all the S&P 500 companies as to what percentage of their personal assets have been invested in equities by quarter for the last 20 quarters ... we'll never get to see it, but it would be interesting, during periods of 20% corrections or greater, whether or not their actions indicate that they might have seen the corrections coming ... I bet I could beat 70% of the myself. <VBG>

... Ed Zander has a history of selling almost all of his Sun stock as quickly as he can (and he has been doing that as far back as I remember) which has probably cost him millions ... and then, we all know about Bill Joy, who, perhaps cost himself hundreds of millions by selling his large chunk of Sun stock years ago ...
