x, nice reply. i can tell you feel bad b/c your son feels bad. if you could work twice as hard to make him well, no doubt you would. i'm an expectant father and i pray for good health for my child above all. i'll pray also that your son, and all the ailing in the world, get rest from their ailments. i've had a very painful nerve injury that was partially corrected through surgery. pain and disability is not fun - and i was an adult and still didn't handle it well! i was essentially inactive from 22 - 30 years of age. surgery helped a lot. i broke two fingers trying to get back into b-ball. broken fingers or not, i'm happy the intense pain has gone and i will always remember it and have tons of compassion for folks with disabilities.

i have a friend who was struck down with multiple sclerosis (sp??) at about 20. from marathons to bed ridden in a few short years. if i were in his shoes, i would not want to live.

my only advice is to stay positive and do the best you can. in doing that, you are being a great success.

best wishes.
