ike, We all saw the selloff just before the news hit. Those were "in the know sellers". Not you or me. Russia sold all their platinum and other white metals for $$ after the crash. they may have some strategic stocks. Diamonds they have tons and tons. Indian precious metals are mainly in brides dowries. Brides are expected to buy a husband with a large dowry, some of which is cash and some is gold/silver/stones etc which goes to her daughters to get them husbands. this system is slowly fading and the dower treasures are more and more mobile every year.
