That's a very interesting article, but I doubt if this would ever be viewed as the Big Event. A RA "cure" or someone demonstrating a dramatic cancer treatment in humans (rather than mice) is much more likely to strike a chord, IMO. Another possibility is something like a successful gene therapy for a "well known" disease like hemophilia or sickle cell, or a dramatic event like making Christopher Reeves walk again.

The other, less dramatic but perhaps more likely scenario, is a steady drumbeat of new drugs from the biotechs. At some point you will start getting articles about the "new biotech revolution."
