I suspect that IABG does hide expenses to make the business look better and to hide shady deals. The so called "insentives" may be at work here. "Intel inside" promotions, deep discounts to Dell and others who stay away from AMD in one way or another, are the darkest aspects of Intel's business.

For example few months ago AMD lost a large commercial desktop design from a major OEM after Intel threw a large price promotion on the table. Where would one expect the costs of such deal to be tabulated?
