More encouraging news about the market in general -

From Larry Wachtel, Chief Equity Strategist of Prudential:

"We did have a rash of favorable new items. For one, third quarter productivity came in above expectations, encouraging the view that productivity gains and flat labor cost will slow inflation down the line. Bear Stearns economist Wayne Angell, a former Fed Vice Chairman, envisions two rate cuts by the Fed next year.

Moreover, a mutual fund tracking service called Trim Tabs estimates that mutual fund cash has reached 5.1% of assets, the highest cash position since November of 1998. Thus, stocks are lean and mean by dint of the sharp September-October correction and cash has been building on the side lines. Once past the election, this market could gratify those with sincerely want be rich.
