Re: You will like this. The President of Yemen is apparently blaming The Mossad for the attack on the USS Cole.

That's an outrageous accusation indeed.... Although the Mossad can --and effectively did-- engage in put-up jobs against the US (e.g., the Lewinsky scrape and its failure to properly warn the US about the French plot to blast the US embassies in Kenya and Tanzania), it'll never go as far as actively participating in anti-US terrorism. The US is still Israel's only trueblue ally. However, that is not to say that the Mossad will never turn nasty to some US individuals/citizens who represent a serious threat to Israel's national interest....

As far as I'm concerned, I believe that the attack on the USS Cole was masterminded by Arab extremists. As I said, the dust will not settle before Tuesday 7th Nov.: the Palestinians have no interest in cooling down the situation since their best bet is George W. Bush.... Any appeasement before Nov 7th is gonna boost Al Gore and the Democrats whereas, by the same token, any escalation in Middle East violence will further damage the Democrats' credibility to broker any viable, definitive Israeli-Palestinian peace agreement. That's why a car bomb blew up in Jerusalem just hours after Shimon Peres pulled off a joint statement by Arafat and Barak....
