I agree, reducing the national debt is an excellent goal, but coming from a 'tax and spend' Democrat like Gore, I have to discount his rhetoric as campaign fodder. Plus, Democrats typically like to use taxes to buy votes. The income redistribution program is unjust in its attempt to adjust enequalities. When people are favored with benefit programs based on how they may vote, it is corrupt and partisan. Reducing the tax rate simply reduces collections. The government is not giving anyone anything.

Taxes are now at an all time high for a peace time economy. The tax rates should be reduced. Bush wants to reduce the number of tax brackets to where to lowest only pays 10%. If this tax bracket problem is not fixed during this window of opportunity, it will never be fixed.
