NEW YORK (CBS.MW) -- John Zimmerman, director of
growth strategies for Banc of America Capital
Management, Inc., likes software, beer and money -- and
not necessarily in that order.

Those are the products of the three top stock picks offered
by Zimmerman, who runs $6 billion in assets for
institutional and individual investors.

Zimmerman envisions two pivotal events will buttress
Microsoft's (MSFT: news, msgs) stock. First, he sees its
problems with the Justice Department soon being resolved,
and he doesn't expect the government to force Microsoft to
break up. Secondly, he said the introduction of Windows
2000 will fuel sales and inflate the stock price. Microsoft
closed at $70.31 Thursday, up 69 cents.
