Without knowing one also could conclude that the circumstances were worse than reported and that could explain what may have been a stiffer sentence. Depends on the state. By today's standards $150 and 30 suspension is cheap. I have friends who were ticketed for DUI-DWI and it has cost them an aggregate of $2,500 and 6 months suspension their first time at bat.
