My point about not interfering in Syria holds. The U.S. has bent over backwards to ignore things in and about Syria that they would not ignore elsewhere. They need the favour of Syria's new government, and actually support it against the forces trying to destabilize it. The overall U.S. goal of security in the Middle East is too important to risk by angering the Syrians. The Syrians are an example of a 'rogue' state becoming another U.S. supported dictatorship.

So. You don't believe the government builds schools, but you are willing to accept that a criminal organization builds schools. I could claim you are biased, but what's the point. The only way to settle it would be to dig up facts that I don't have time to chase. I guess that means you win.

> this BS rebel stuff and drug war stuff you will find a greedy grasp for the material wealth by monolithic trans nationals.

Anyone that believes the transnationals have no interest in these matters is delusional. But anyone who believes the transnationals are the major force dictating the development of societies is also delusional. To suggest, for example, that the southern Sudanese conflict was created by Talisman and CNPC would be just plain stupid. To suggest that the oil companies play a role in exacerbating the conflict is reasonable. To believe their presence has no effect on the conflict would be a sign of denial.

A swift flick of Occam's Razor removes the need to postulate conspiracy theories to explain human conflict. Humans were good at oppressing and rebelling long before multinationals came along.
