Al Gore smoking Thai sticks doesn't matter. I have the official memo from Democratic headquarters.

"Yes, I did smoke what some people call Thai sticks. In fact, whenever Larry King has asked me if I smoked Thai sticks, I have responded in the affirmative. Coming from a family of tobacco farmers, it is in my blood to continue the tradition of exploring the smoking customs of the people of many cultures. How could I face you, the American public, had if I refused to smoke Thai sticks? In fact, if we all smoked more Thai sticks, we may have averted the partial global economic meltdown that began with the severe devaluation of the currency of Thailand, the bhat - 3 years ago. As your future President, I want to ensure that the economy of Thailand never again experiences a free-fall. So, it is my duty as a GLOBAL citizen to continue to smoke Thai sticks. In addition, you know I have been involved in cementing stronger relations between our country and the nations of the far east, including China. Sometimes, this desire for unity among the world of nations necessitates the partaking of the customs and rituals of our newfound friends. Whether that be sharing of nuclear secrets or ...reviewing the uh..agricultural products of people from foreign lands who are not as fortunate as you and I, sometimes we must take those bold steps forward. If you entrust me with your vote, I will endeavor to continue to support the family farms in Thailand as well as our own great country. The family farm must be preserved, as an example of culture, as a link to this great global community of people who are willing to work the earth and till the soil."
