The only thing you or anyone is missing is the intent behind the WSJ articles. By all methods WSJ likes to be subjective. Winnick is not their favorite. Always read WSJ and Reuters with the question in the back of your mind, "who is it they write positively about" when they are bashing a particular equity, and "who is it they write negatively about" when they are trumpeting a company. WCOM is a favorite of WSJ........'nuff said? Caution, here, because one must really know the fundamentals and the truth (as you pointed out, revenues are NOT declining), because WSJ is still in fantasy-land thinking that because they have a website, they are current. Sorry, but current thinking is to think, not obey. TSC is another source of nonsense, and we all saw what SI Mike put in our mailboxes, OTOTOT ..... another boondoggle to slow down SI (not slow enough yet) by Public Boards.....or here, part of what I wrote to his office: I am certainly not that stupid, Mike. Another promo to attract more Web-enabled cash into the Marketeers' clutches. Over the past year so much nonsense has accumulated on these boards that moderated boards are almost mandatory for any serious investor here. Simply having money in a stock does not make one serious.
TSC is one of the most despised sites I can think of, but if you are willing to lie down with dogs, enjoy.

an addendum I would like to add now:
Another Q&A you could put on your letter, Mike: Q: how much faster will SI surf now with the additional Public Boards? A: short term, nobody will notice anything, they will be just as slow as ever....but don't worry, we have already held a meeting and discussed all of this, set a committee to work up a model, decided on how many new people we could hire, and since we are now hand-in-glove with *the investment community* of Big Bucks, we simply wish to offer our subscribers the opportunity to run amok like the rest of the Lemmings; sell at the low, buy at the high while being manipulated via every news organization and editorial coming out at them on the Web....nobody noticed over the past year how the news has become more uniform, nor over the past two years how the news seems to have become less available.....until half an hour later, anyway. But then, our subscribers come first and being the honorary payee of a couple of hundred bucks, we won't hesitate to keep your enclave strictly private....we can offer the world your posts, without having to pay copyright to you, even though it was not intended by you to be viewed by others than on your thread.....and all your good thoughts will be blasted by TSC commentators to assure the Lemmings that your Reasoning is Rotten, and TSC reason is more sophisticated. Yeah, friends, the world just got a lot smaller....maybe it is time to move over to eGroups...... later, Martin Thomas <<<<<>>>>>> |
