To All:

Mephisto, I called investor relations, and they informed me that
earnings are expected in the 2nd or 3rd week of july, a date has not
been selected yet. For the first qtr, ASND reported on April 9, 1996,
so you could see earnings earlier.

Somebody asked me whether I have any numbers on the Lucent deal, I
do not. As Matthew has mentioned, Ascend has a long working relationship
with Lucent, and these new ventures are additions.

Somebody also said that I was spreading bad press about ASND. I think
that he should read through my posts carefully before he makes such
statements. No stock can be manipulated for ever. I was suspicious
that some manipulation may have ocurred in the last 2 weeks and I
notified investor relations. What they do with that info is their
decision. They will have to look after their own house.

The $0.16 est for next quarter is not right. Let me post the latest
consensus estimates from First Call:

2Q 1996: $0.19 vs $0.06 (217%)
3Q 1996: $0.21 vs $0.08 (163%, expect charges for NTSR which are not
included in this number)

FY 1995: 0.28A
FY 1996: 0.80E
FY 1997: 1.19E (too far away, this is just a guess)

ASND's CFO mentioned that he is comfortable with rev est of $105 to $115
million. My guess is that assuming gross margings remaining same, the
EPS should be $0.21.
