"to anticipate the next wave" we need to know the Frequency. I agree that the frequency has increased lately. But it does not mean that it'll keep increasing. The reason is that we have too much technology developed and now it is time to build networks using them.

The food is cooked, now we have to munch it and digest it. That is why the focus will go from people and companies (and Silicon Valley) that developed the new technology to people and companies (everywhere) that will build those new networks using those new technologies.

Developing new technology, is not an end in itself. It is not very realistic to expect a continuous development of new technologies. (VCs probably would like to see that way) We have to implement networks using them.

No company is going to implement (say DSL) and them scrap the whole investment in two years time to build FTTH/FTTC.
The next years are Planning and Implementation of networks. There will be lack of human resources instead of components. Roll Out is the the name of the game. Hold on to your Wireless Facilities shares.
