Dear Fuzzymath: I appreciate your attempts to keep track of the polls. Thank you.
Living here in Fla. I can tell you I am totally confused as to who is ahead. It appears by newspaper and t/v accounts that Gore has a 5 pt lead. Whether the media, which I believe to be pro Gore is truthful I dont know. But, I am very fearful that the Gore campaign of scaring retirees (which was effective against his brothers first run for Govenor) is again working. I really resent the fact that bald faced lies can be done and the media seems to just go along with it.
Regarding the economy, I will go you one step further--regress taxes (which Gore will obviously and has publicly stated) will eventually choke off the good times, as will tax cuts for the RIGHT people, which boil down to none at all. I think I have figured out what Gore intends to do. He will raise all kinds of FEES which ordinary people dont consider taxes but in fact these FEES will actually hurt the little people more than the wealthy. Example, Clinton did this in access to National Parks. I used to pay $20 a year for a pass, now its $50 a year. Gore wants to shut the public off entirely from these things so I bet he raises it even more dramatically. I also bet he increases the excise tax on gasoline considerably. I ask you who drives the most proportionately? I bet its the average family not the wealthy. JDN
