Jim,

To the best of my knowledge, BBN will cease to exist as a corporate entity as of June 9, 1997, provided GTE gets the 62% they need to complete their tender offer. At that time your July 30 Calls ain't gonna be worth a whole lot. Suggest you rid yourself of them while they still have some value. Of course, this is only May 25th and who knows what could happen between now and June 9th? Nothing, I suspect, but anything is possible...

I am a huge non-fan of options; sure they provide you with a great amount of leverage and, properly bought or sold, can provide you with price insurance against an exisitng stock position. But what the Hell do I know? Last options I owned were E.F. Hutton July 17 Calls. Might as well have taken 50 $100 bills and flushed them down the toliet as they expired worthless when Hutton went Tango Uniform. Of course, American Brands August something-or-others treated me real well several years ago--took out 5 points and left 9 on the table.

Oh well; I'd still rather own the common of any company rather than screwing around with the options.

Good Luck.
