<should insist on candid and truthful answers to questions about past misconduct. GW has made character the most important issue in this campaign so voters should know everything that reflects on his character.>

I'm quite behind in reading here so perhaps this has all ready been addressed But to my point....

I hear what you and many others are saying in deference to a candidates past indiscretions and the demand they be laid out for all to inspect. That is one side of our problem. The other side presents when you then turn to complain a country this size must be able to field better candidates. A look at the first instance makes clear why we have the second instance. It's fine to attack someone's current positions and weakness but with all the muck raking and mining to unearth any blot in a persons life, you might wonder why we have any candidates at all? There are occasions when data banks provide us with too much and the trees obscure the forest. We have many excellent potential candidates who must think "It's just not worth it"

It's unlikely Thomas Jefferson would be a glowing part of our history were his dalliances with a slave been widely publicized for the populace to chew and salivate over.

But let's not concern ourselves with "might have beens", just pass the shovel.
