This past week, Venture Wire, a news service to the VC community started to report downturns in new VC money flow, particularly to new start-ups, with more money now staying with mezzanine prop-ups of companies in the midst of development, who have had the IPO exit for VC money temporarily blocked.

So, it would seem that the pace of innnovation and creative destruction will be ameliorated temporarily.

The bond market has clearly indicated its displeasure with the role that it had been expected to play in the UMTS roll-outs, among other excesses. Advances in comms technologies won't be allowed to move too fast, if the result is to cripple the providers and saddle them with too much debt. The whole process needs to mature. I am very much in agreement with your assessment. :)
