Frank, I do know that Bush has quit drinking, but have no knowledge as to what gore did, or still does, or no longer does. I do know, that the use of drugs like marijuana, cocaine, heroin, and and such as that, is worse than alcohol, but will be one of the first to admit that alcohol is a drug. One of the main differences, is that alcohol is legal which should be a factor in determining a person's character.
I know, from personal experience, that abstaining from alcohol after prolonged use, usually makes a stronger person of the one who drank. That person knows the insidious nature of an addictive substance, and is better qualified to see through other things that may appear to be good, or harmless, and avoid such pitfalls. To me, this is an important factor it the character of a person that must look at all sorts of issues that may appear advantageous on the surface, but be booby-trapped on the inside.
I guess what I am trying to say, is that Bush has more substance to his character than gore does, IMO.
