The only guarantee we can offer young Americans, is when a portion of the money is in their own name, in their own account I thought you were the guys behind "rugged individualism" where you don't need a govt program to tell you what to do. Why don't you just encourage people to save their own money and not look for handouts from the Federal Govt? Oh, and isn't that what 401(k), 403(b), SEP IRS, IRAs and Roth IRAs are for? How many programs are needed to "encourage people to save for retirement"? Why not just have a federal program that does it for people? Oh, we already have it, it's called Social Security.
