DJBEINO, I think that the slow down in deployment of 12" fabs will be due to lack of 300 mm wafers. I have not read any announcement in the last two years of any of the large wafer suppliers (SEH, Wacker and MEMC) building 300 mm capacity. They have few pullers running here and there, but these are all experimentals. I would guess that it would take $400 MM to $500 MM to bet a capacity of 100,000 wafers/ month (enough for 2.5 40,000 wafer/month super fabs). WFR's balance sheet surely cannot afford this kind of additional debt.
