nope. I am voting for George W. actually, as regards energy, most people make a knee jerk conclusion that if you are from Texas, the oil "lobby" will control you. However, almost every new power plant being built is designed to run on natural gas, not oil. In order to combat what will be an unbelievable increase in the demand for natural gas, we do need to look at alternatives, such as figuring out ways to burn coal cleanly. Part of the coal issue is actually not the combustion of it, but the by-products of pulling it out of the ground - it is messy and does not come up in zip lock bags. I think that Bush is more realistic regarding coal, recognizing that it really needs to be part of our energy future, and he will be willing to invest money to figure out better ways of using it as a fuel. Gore on the other hand, is more subject to maintaining the idea that coal is forever evil being a fossil fuel. That agenda will put the US in a more precarious situation. |
