Scott,

First let me apologize for any remarks I may have made which were offending. Second, reading last couple of posts made me think that there is true potential for this thread to do good for those seeking information.

I would like to take back my sentense about KLIC losing market share. After reading further, I cannot come to that conclusion. Agree or disagree, many small companies have came up with numbers pleasing investors (SMTL, GSNX, MTSN, ASYT, KLAC, NVLS - all front ends). Some frontend companies disappoint forever - FSII. Backends like TER, KLIC, COHU, EGLS have disappointed investors. Some have hinted at wafer shortage and other front end issues drying up backend little bit (no exact source I can recall).

Just as consolation I would like to present following link:

kns.com Check Jan/00 news links,

After announcing 3 good news in Jan/00, stock took off from 40 to 60 - a 50% gain in less than 20 days!

chart.yahoo.com

Better days are ahead. Best luck. I think its like buying mutual fund - keep averaging (easy said than done)

Disc: I have long position in other SEM like MTSN, EGLS, CMOS(this will be very closely watched for TER like action although its low already), CGNX, VTSS, etc. I do not have position in KLIC or AMAT. Although I share your frustration as many of mine have had similar fate in the past.
