hey tc that's tough having to reformat. but leave it to you to find the positive side. <g> sounds like the little brush with danger i had ( #reply-14644199 ) where i was able to boot to windows via my jaz rescue disks and let norton repair the damage. i sure felt like a genius for having diligently kept up with the updates. i really wonder what the heck happened with your machine? :) mark
