yea, so AT&T can go from 2.7x capacity of AMPS to 3x capacity of amps and then give back 2x by combining two voice channels to get one GPRS channel. the amount of dropped calls should really improve the workload of the already burdened customer service lines.

How about this one....if T does go to GSM and then admits they need to upgrade to WCDMA, two things should happen. Analysts should recognise that T will now be paying royalties to Q as was pointed out, but second, shareholders should be made painfully aware that they paid TWICE for a complete system rip out and upgrade. If T does NOT go CDMA,then they will eventually HAVE to go WCDMA to compete in the 3G race. If not, then they will loose out by 2002.

Can't wait.
