I have a lot of friends that have been very happy with their Palm Vx's with the Omnisky modem. It has a couple of key features that they seem to like over the Palm VII

1) when you don't need the modem, you can remove it, and the unit is sleek, easy to pack, and 'cool.'
2) The Palm V can pack a lot more memory (8Mb vs 2Mbs)

Depending on your broker, you may be able to get real time quotes and see your portfolio updated in real time. I know Ameritrade has their services available through Sprint web enabled phones, but I don't know which brokers offer their services on wireless devices.

As far as the fundamental info and chart stuff goes. If you choose to use SI's wireless app, you can get a little bit of fundamental info and you can get charts. But the charts are not going to be of the quality that you would expect from a service like IQChart or any of the web based charts out there.

There is a wealth of good information available through your Palm, from periodicals like the WSJ and the Economist, to the bread and butter stuff like (quote/news/charts), to message boards like SI.

Good luck.
