Dear John: I can't imagine how great it must have been growing up in this area of Florida 30-40 years ago. Probably lots of undiscovered places. There is not much left that is undiscovered, at least above water.

We moved to Florida in 1950 when I was 7 years old and except for stint in the service and college I have lived here all adult life and most of my childhood. We didnt have air conditioning or mesquito control in those days, but I can tell you growing up in Fla. was like growing up in the Garden of Eden in those days. Fishing was fabulous, I could snorkel off the beach near here and get lobster. Most roads were sand and opportunities for a youngster to explore and have fun were limitless. I really loved it. Now its getting very overcrowded. The New York folks have brought down here with them their ideas and increased Govt control. etc etc. Now, to me at least, its not what it used to be, at least here on the South East Coast. I am retired now, luckily I bought a couple acres of land on the South West coast years ago. If we elect to stay in the state it will be over there where it is not so populated as here etc etc. JDN
